SOUTH is a focused group of all the South Island's 12 regional tourism organisations working collaboratively with Christchurch International Airport to grow international arrivals and length of stay in the South Island of New Zealand.

With spectacular mountains, pristine forests, crystal clear rivers and picturesque lakes, the South Island’s stunning landscape and scenery is nature at its best. THE GATEWAY TO THE SOUTH ISLAND

With regular flights via Asia and Australia, Christchurch International Airport is the main gateway to the South Island and the perfect place to start your New Zealand holiday.

• Local Transport Car - Hiring a car gives you the freedom to explore the South Island at your own pace. The highways are well sign-posted – just remember to keep left.
• Local Transport Campervan - A self-contained campervan offers you the added convenience of accommodation and transport.
• Local Transport Train - Sit back, relax and enjoy the South Island’s dramatic landscape on the TranzAlpine scenic railway.
• Local Transport Internal flights - Flight times between the South Island’s airports never take more than one hour. If you’re short on time it’s easy to get where you want to be.
